For the couple who is taken with the idea of celebrating
their marriage in a rustically romantic way,
combining creative new fashions
that are inspired by history
seems an original
and authentic way of doing just that.
As a designer,
there are many factors that I consider
when creating a unique or custom gown.
My intent is for the bride to look and feel like she is wrapped up in her very heart,
ready to present all of herself,
visually,
emotionally,
mindfully and spiritually to her groom.
Taking into account the location
is an important part of the design process.
Whatever the occasion, we ask that age old question,
"What should I wear?"
In a New York five star hotel, of course you would want to sparkle.
In a romantic rustic country setting,
the gown should be something created specifically
to be complimented by the surroundings.
This gown is covered in a variety of vintage fabrics, laces and pearls.
I employed tea dyed satins, linens and laces
to combine the elegance of a traditional bridal gown,
with the simplicity of linen.
The effect is a gown that is appropriate for the time and place,
and a bride who knows she has found the perfect dress!
brought together a team of excellent local artists
and was headed up by a beautifully creative photographer.
I was truly honored to collaborate with these women
and am absolutely inspired and encouraged
by each of their spirits' of excellence.
